I don't care what side you are on (ok, I do, I'm for fixing the broken healthcare system...), but take a stand and write your congresspeople....
Here's my letter I just sent to:
Representative Kline
Senator Franken
Senator Klobuchar
President Obama
Letter text:
Please pass healthcare reform soon, the current system is very broken and has caused many hardships for my family and others. I wholeheartedly support President Obama's call for healthcare reform, and agree with his position that "the status quo is the one option that is not on the table". I hope that the efforts in the House and the Senate to obtain universal coverage for all Americans will not be lost. I would like to see the politicians stop the internal and cross-party bickering on all sides and actually compromise on something, anything. The system is extremely broken and the status quo is bankrupting citizens. I personally am an independent voter and think that both sides are whining to try to get their way and only their way. Please stop and think about your constituents, the ones going bankrupt due to excessive medical costs. Please fix or at least make an attempt to fix the system. It will be impossible to get it right the first time, pass a portion, then in a year or so, make some tweaks, then again. In my eyes (and many others) the only way to fail is to do nothing. It will be impossible to find a solution to please everyone (including me), but we the people need you to do your job, even if it is unpopular, and even if you lose your next election. Please do what is right, and do it soon.
Here's an easy way to do the same:
Read more about the president's proposal or click the appropriate link below to send your letter to Obama and your Members of Congress.
If you like the compromise bill:
Pass Obama's Health Plan
If you do not like the proposal:
Oppose Obama's Health Plan
